This book is an account of the profound relationship my dog Timber and I shared from the beginning of her life to the very end. She died on November 29, 2006, at the age of sixteen years. Her journey had begun badly. After only nine weeks of life, I had became her third owner. Previous owners had tied her to trees and beat her which resulted in emotional problems, such as consuming rocks to relieve her constant anxiety. The title of the book reflects how we had worked together to overcome every challenge presented to us throughout her lifetime, and to make her life as normal and happy as possible. It took years, but we succeeded. It was the journey that was perfect, because it required the precise matching of an extremely diligent owner and a dog with eternal optimism, and through it all her intelligence and extraordinary personality shined. Eventually, our partnership created a third entity - a closeness so deep, I've been unable to match it in human terms. Our story is one of hope in which the impossible was made possible through hard work and patience.
